The effect lays on the principle and basis of a flip-book.
Through a fast sequence of single pictures on the same spot, a movie is being created.
After having passed a reference line, the installation automatically starts in synchronization with the speed of the train. The reference line lies between 2 sensors, each 11 yards before and after the light boxes. With that, the installation can be started from both sides.
Through speed measurement via a specially designed steering system, each single light box is activated. Precision strobes backlight each picture in coordination with the speed of the train. Thus, the passenger sees another picture on the same spot. This process repeats itself 20 times a second. The movie is being created via the high picture frequency. A single picture should be viewable only shortly, therefore the illumination of the pictures with strobes is necessary. The shutter absorbs this task in the traditional film projector. To avoid the sight of the previous picture, single pictures of the flip-book are overlapped.
The installation is designed for an easy and fast change of the pictures.
The positioning of the boxes, the activation and programming have not to be altered, therefore the installation doesn't has to be adjusted after a picture exchange.
No limits are set to the content and length of the movie.
